Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing was a comedy play written in 1598-1599. The play was registered with the English guild of publishers and was printed later that year in the only early quarto version. there are several main actors; good and bad.
Benedick - Benedick is very witty and is always making jokes and puns about others.
Beatrice - Beatrice is a pleasant-spirited lady, she is generous and loving, but, like Benedick, continually mocks other people with and puns.
Claudio - Claudio is a very loving person and has a wonderful heart.
Hero - Hero is the beautiful young girl who is the daughter of Leonato. Hero is lovely, gentle, and kind.
Don Pedro - Don Pedro is an important nobleman from Aragon. He sometimes referred to as “Prince.” Don Pedro is generous, courteous, intelligent, and loving to his friends, but he is also quick to believe evil of others.
Leonato - Leonato is a respected, well-to-do, elderly noble man. As governor of Messina, he is second in social power only to Don Pedro.

Brief facts about Sir William Shakespeare

SHAKESPEARE
William Shakespeare was a play witter and an English poet. Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. his first few plays were comedies or histories. Most of his plays were translated into every major language. Shakespeare was a respected poet and playwright in his own day. Some of his plays like Rome and Juliet are still very famous.

THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN ELIZABETHAN ENGLAND

The roles of the women in the Elizabethan England were very limited even though there was an unmarried women assigned to the throne. Expectations for men and women were very clear stated. It says, "...men were expected to be the breadwinners and women to be housewives and mothers. On average, a woman gave birth to a child every two years..." (http://www.elizabethi.org/us/women/), (14/09/09). People believed that a women always needed someone to look after them. "If they were married, their husband was expected to look after them. If they were single, then their father, brother or another male relative was expected to take care of them." Lots of women were highly educated for example the Queen. Women were not allowed to go to school or to university, but they could be educated at home by private tutors.

CLASS DISTINCTIONS IN ELIZABETHAN ENGLAND

In the time of Shakespeare, there was a strong sense of social classes. Some people and families moved from class to class but others were born into a particular class and stayed there until death. being in a class determined what clothes that you wore or what jobs that are available to you. The highest class is the Nobility. in the time of Shakespeare there were only about 55 noble families in England. "At the head of each noble family is a duke, a baron, or an earl. These are the lords and ladies of the land." (http://www.brandonsd.mb.ca/crocus/library/social_classes_in_shakespeare.htm#Nobility), (14/09/09). you were put into the social class of Nobility by birth or by grant of the queen. Another class is the Gentry's. Only about 5% of the population was considered a Gentry. These were all the knights, squires, gentlemen, and gentlewomen. They were the most important class within the Elizabethan England time. Another class is the Yeomanry. These people aren't poor and they aren't rich. they have saved up enough money to live comfortably and normally. Then the lowest social class is the Poor. These were the sick, the disabled, the old and feeble, and soldiers unable to work because of wounds.

ENTERTAINMENT IN ELIZABETHAN ENGLAND

Entertainment was very important to the people in the Elizabeth era, however there wasn't much entertainment unless there was something to celebrate. For example a betrothal, a wedding, a victory or a festival. Court entertainment was regular and more entertaining. they got to enjoy feasts, jousts and banquets often accompanied by music and dancing. the poor had less exciting etntertainment like watching trained animals or mystery plays.

My Co-curricular

I don’t do any co-curricular outside with the school but next term I will be starting up art classes after school again. Last term it was on a Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30. The reason why I signed up is because I love art. It was also compulsory to do a co- curricular so these times worked well with my busy schedule. My expectations were to learn new ways of art like new techniques or different things to make or draw. I loved it. We made many cool insects out of wire and other materials. Miss Makin made an extraordinary bird just out of wire. It was AMAZING. I would recommend this co-curricular to anyone who is up for learning new things and having fun.

Anti - Bully poster

1. What message you hope the ad will deliver? 
I hope that the add will give a message across that it is horrible that people bully on others and that are consequences that follow your actions. If we don't stop bullying, it could be too late for a lot of people.
2. Why did you make certain choices regarding colour schemes, graphics and words? 
I chose the picture of the dinosaur because it relates to the word extinct. it says on my poster, ' MAKE BULLYING EXTINCT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE' this is written in big red capital letters which draws your attention to look at the poster. The poster is very bold bright and simple which easily get the message across
3. How effective do you think this ad will be? 
Honestly I think it will be like every other poster that is put up. Yes people will read it and it will draw their attention but I don't think that they are really going to do anything. All it will do is leave the reader thinking about what he just read.
4. Who is the target audience of your ad? I.e. which age group, boys or girls, etc. 
I think that the targets of this add would be school children. If this were to be put out there in would go on school grounds because that is where most of the bullying occurs. At school; then all the kids that do bully others will see the effect that their bullying has on other people.

My Book

At the moment, i have starting to read Twilight. I don't read much so it is a big step. My sister Mia has just finished reading Breaking Dawn. she loves to read. I have seen the movie but apparently the movie is very different from the book. I guess i'll give it a go. I wonder if I'll get stuck to it like my sister did? I will post another reflection when i think i am far enough into the book to start commenting. I am a slow reader so i will try and read every time i get the chance.

In this picture I can see a man holding a surfboard as if he was about to go for a swim in the water. He is wearing a full body protection suit. He is at the beach and the clouds and waters are gloomy.
I think that the purpose of this advertisement is to give a message across about how polluted our waters are. This message is put across by the way the man in the picture has to wear protection to go for a swim in the water.
I think that this picture is directed to everyone even children. It is directed at such a wide ranged audience because it takes more than a few people to fix a big problem. The way that it is directed at a large range of people is that firstly there are no words so it is easy to understand and secondly it is a plain and simple picture, which gets a strong message across.
The dark and gloomy colours in the picture, is what makes the message strong. They didn’t use bright and happy colours because this situation is serious.
I think that the creator chose to set the scene at a beach is because that it is were the serious problem is. All the sea creatures are dying because their homes have been polluted.
I think that the creator got the message across clearly at effectively.

In this picture there is a big green frog with its tongue sticking out of its mouth. Around the frog there are many recycle symbols. It also says, ‘reduced recycle reuse’. The main letters in this picture says, ‘Go Green!’ The colour theme of this picture is GREEN
I think that the purpose of this advertisement is to get people to reduce, reuse and recycle. I think that the frog is used because it is a cute green animal that would attract young viewers. When it says, ‘Go Green!’ it means recycle and save the planet.
I think that the type of audience that this image is directed to is younger children. This is because it is a simple and easy to read picture that is easy to understand the message
I think that the creator has chosen this kind of language to kept it on the same level of a younger citizen. That way it would be easy to read and easier to understand.
I think that this a great image that makes young children aware of their future if they don’t go green. It gets the message across to everyone of all sorts of ages because it is so simple and easy to understand.
